How We Guested on Over 300 Podcasts
AMPLIFY YOUR MESSAGE
In 2020, I booked the Bonjoro CEO, CMO, and myself on over 200 podcasts. These podcasts became our company's central growth lever, pushing us to over 40,000 users and adding $28,000 MRR (Monthly recurring revenue), or $336,000/year in new customer revenue directly from podcasts.
Because this is only direct attribution traffic from the podcasts, it is highly probable that the actual boost in MRR was even higher (I would guess 20-30%).
To date in 2022, we have generated over a million dollars in revenue that is directly attributable to being a guest on podcasts.
CUT THE AGENCY COSTS
Most podcast booking agencies if you look online will charge $250-$500/podcast and book only up to 3-4 podcasts a month.
Most of the agencies will not be able to get you on anything ranked in the top 5% of podcasts.
So instead of $0 (what we spent, just my time), 200 podcasts would have run us $100,000.
One of the enduring and powerful aspects of doing hundreds of podcasts is the relationships and network. Not only did these podcasts become our third largest attribution source of paid accounts, but nearly half of them continued to work with us on an ongoing basis. Some became partners, some did collaborations with us, some became users, some introduced us to other podcasts. The long-term benefits of podcast guesting are immense.
5 Simple Stages
In the guide attached, I will break down my process into 5 sections, with text, images, and video explanations of exactly what I did to achieve our results.
Step 1: Getting Started (platforms you will need)
Step 2: Selecting your Topics and Setting your Filters
Step 3: Qualifying the Podcast
Step 4: The Pitch
Step 5: Co-Promotion
Bonus Step: How to Be a Great Podcast Guest
This guide will be a massive time saver for anyone looking to get featured and to get organic, non-paid attention.
The course will include exact emails I have used to get featured and breaks it down by section, The Hook, The Body, and The Conclusion to talk through what does and doesn't work. I also asked some hosts and got the best pitch from a top 3% podcast and analyzed that one as well.
Please note that the methodology we use does include another paid service (The great part about it though is you only need to pay when you use it. The service allows you to access their database, gather a bunch of data, and then you can work through that in the weeks to come. I have spent less than $140 total having used the service extensively for years.
$140 is less than you would normally pay for 1 booked-for-you podcast, so I would say, $140 for 300+ podcasts (or an annual revenue bump of over $1,000,000) is a pretty sweet deal.
Of course, like all of my products, this comes with a 100% money-back guarantee during the first 2 months, all I ask is that you try the technique.
Rajiv Nathan, CEO at The Start-up Hypeman
"There are a bunch of podcast booking agencies who you can pay. But you're usually paying money to get mass blasted to a bunch of shows which actually damage your brand and your reputation in the process. Ditch the spammy agencies and implement this system instead because it flat. out. WORKS. It's so easy to follow, and you maintain your integrity and authenticity in the process. I got on 9 top podcasts in only 2 months!"
Jennifer Turliuk, CEO at Makerkids
"This course was incredible. I booked a top 5% podcast in my first 3 days!"
Yash Chavan, Partnerships at Sunsama
"I've booked my client on 20 podcasts in one month and they couldn't be happier! Thank you. What I liked most about your course was the Listen Notes filters and email copy template/breakdown you provided. I was able to use your methods to craft an amazing pitch that got good replies. Amazing resource, well worth the $!"
Dillon Carter, CEO at Vendrive
"Casey's podcast course was incredibly straightforward. So straightforward that I booked myself on six podcasts within 24 hours of applying the methods, with more in my pipeline that I'm following up with. I'm also in an incredibly small industry — I can't imagine how many I would have booked in a regular industry."
Justin Zimmerman, Head of Partnerships at SalesMessage
"I barely dipped my toes in the water and the 3 or 5 podcasts I've booked have definitely added to the number of profile views I get on LinkedIn and consulting leads. Plus, it's been great for my personal brand. People are recognizing me as an expert and someone they want to work with. So I can't wait to jump further into Casey's podcast booking process!"
